The Association's objectives are: (1) to promote a closer coordinated relationship among law enforcement working Asian gangs with a view toward a more extensive and rapid dissemination and exchange of information concerning Asian-related incidents, suspects, and investigations. (2) to encourage and support legislation that would tend to decrease or curb the occurrence of Asian gang-related crimes; to aid and assist the judiciary and related agencies in the adjudication to gang cases and defendants. (3) to solicit the support of the public, that they themselves might be better protected and educated in the prevention of Asian gang-related crimes. (4) to encourage the development of new methods and techniques that will assist law enforcement in the identification and apprehension of Asian gang members suspected of crimes. (5) to provide training to its members and to any requesting law enforcement agencies on Asian gang activities, tactics, philosophies, organization, or current crime trends. Since the 9-11 terrorist attack in New York City, AGIAC has strived to better serve the needs of the law enforcement community by providing quality training in Terrorism and Organized Crime which will equip and assist members in combating this proliferating crime trend in a proficient and professional manner. |
